Connecting Parents and Families to the University

Visitor & Information Programs is proud to announce the new Parent Program. The mission of the Parent Program is to connect parents with UW–Madison to enhance student’s success throughout their Wisconsin experience.

Students: Encourage your parents to join the Parent Program mailing list and visit the Parent Program Web site.

Reaching Out to the Community

In partnership with the Arts Institute, VIP presents Arts Night Out! Join us on Saturday, Oct. 13, to sample a wide array of arts programming that is regularly offered by campus galleries, theaters and music and arts groups. All events are free, and special family friendly events are scheduled throughout the day.

Campus Area Housing

Campus Area Housing Listing Service is UW–Madison’s official source of privately-owned housing listings.

Students:

  • Find private housing for next semester or next year.
  • List your sublet for only $14!

Faculty and staff:

  • List your rental property.
  • Direct prospective students and faculty or visiting scholars to our Web site to find short or long-term housing in Madison.

Where in the World is Bucky Badger?

UW Homecoming festivities kick off Oct. 19 and culminate with the Badgers taking on the Indiana Hoosiers. Join us in discovering “Where in the world is Bucky Badger?” through fun events like these:

  • The run/walk and new children’s fun run beginning at Library Mall on Oct. 21.
  • The new “Air Band” competition on Oct. 23, in the Rathskellar.
  • The annual Homecoming Parade and fireworks display on Friday, Oct. 26, at 5 p.m. (one hour earlier than usual).

VIP Employment Opportunities

Visitor & Information Programs (VIP) employs university students as Tour Guides and Information Guides. These students serve as UW ambassadors welcoming prospective students, visitors and the entire campus community.

  • VIP searches for outgoing and enthusiastic students to work in a dynamic and demanding environment that fosters academic, professional and personal growth.
  • Applications for Spring 2008 employment will be available early October.

Want to host a conference? Not sure if you have the time and resources? Call 608/265-9500.

Through our partnership with the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), we can help. The GMCVB will work with you to develop a strong bid package, secure lodging and assist with organizing campus and community activities for your guests to enjoy. VIP can provide campus and community publications and customize group tours of campus. Leverage our partnerships and community expertise to enhance your conference planning.
