This year’s Homecoming celebration is off to a great start! The theme for 2006, “Bucky goes to Camp … Randall,” ties a “camping” theme into the history of our university, making it unique to UW–Madison. This year’s nine-day celebration kicked off Friday, October 6, and will conclude on Saturday, October 14, with our Badgers taking on Minnesota during the Homecoming football game at Camp Randall Stadium!

New Gateway to UW–Madison

On September 28, campus and community leaders celebrated the opening of our new state-of-the-art Welcome Center—the new gateway to UW–Madison and Greater Madison area located at 21 N. Park St. As a collaborative effort among VIP, UW Transportation Services, and the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau, this new facility features an inviting and engaging reception area, conference rooms, on-site parking, and a drive-up window for parking and general information.

What’s Up Around Town?

In autumn, the Madison area not only boasts brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow, it also offers plenty of great seasonal attractions and activities.

One of the grandest of these activities is the fifth annual Wisconsin Book Festival, a five-day celebration, in and around downtown Madison, October 18-22. The Festival features readings, lectures, discussions, writing workshops, live interviews, children's events, and more.
